How Do I Meet People?

The Place of Grace is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at The Place of Grace. [some of the below described areas are areas or goals to be moved toward]

Small Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, The Place of Grace encourages those tenured members who are foundationally experienced in God’s grace to have small bible studies held in member homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve at a time.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of The Place of Grace is recognized for their close interaction with the children and are at times asked for volunteer support.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group at The Place of Grace provides a welcoming atmosphere for high school, college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Group

The Place of Grace Women’s Groups gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s group, located at The Place of Grace, spend times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). This group provides a refreshing discipleship and fellowship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Accountability Group

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. This accountability group when formed among the young men at The Place of Grace will meet together as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.

Married Couples

Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The Place of Grace can provided married couples the opportunity to come together and biblically study topics ranging from Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for Kids, Shepherding Children, Marriage and Sex. It is essential that both parties in the relationship be willing to recover their marriage by submitting to the authority of God and the guidance of the pastors. It is a time of looking inward at your heart first and thus valuing one another as Christ intends.

Community Outreach Efforts

There are ways in which members of The Place of Grace can participate in outreach to the community. Below are some suggested ways to do so.

The Community Crisis Center does food, clothes, eviction prevention and utilities assistance applications, etc. One can volunteer their service by scheduling with the Crisis  based upon what your personal work schedule and the volunteer times that are available.

VBS – Vacation Bible School

VBS  or Vacation Bible School is offered every  year during the summer. Pastor Althea always plans an exciting time for children to minister the love and grace of God to the many children in attendance. Many children who attend are not from The Place of Grace and it serves as an evangelistic outreach to those children and parents. Help is always needed for various activities, setup, cleanup, etc.

Adopt A Family

The Place of Grace always tries to Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, during the past year due to COVID-19 this was not possible. Prayerfully, we will be able to adopt a family. Please contribute with can goods, gifts, etc. when these events are announced.
